Have you ever seen a suicidal parakeet, a homeless butterfly? You want to know how you go crazy? One marble at a time. It's the law of your language that dictates mess is the precursor for messiah. But you should have seen the fire, a symphony of mayhem, people leaping from windows, like lightning bolts somersaulting out of a terrible cloud.

I’m in love with Kate Spade’s vintage nylon collections..

Essie Sugar Daddy

I finally got this black leather Valentino Histoire! I’ve always wanted a Histoire but I was unsure about the size and could not find a non-patent one anywhere. Plus there were wayyy too many fakes online.

But I’m so glad I bought it, the leather is soo soft and I love Valentino bags! ♥

Chanel ♥

Once in a while Chanel comes out with a gorgeous groundbreaking smash hit. Like Particuliere, for example.

Well I don’t consider Mimosa or Paradoxal to be groundbreaking smash hits, but I can’t deny they are pretty (well, in the case of Paradoxal, special). So even though there was a time when I was pretty sure that train had passed right by me again, I ended up buying both anyway.

And let me say that both are prettier in real life than in the bottle or in pictures!

Yellow

In the wake of the beautiful Chanel Mimosa, the unexpected shade of Yellow has made its way into chic territory. So naturally I tried on a few beautiful summer yellows!

In order from left to right and pinky to thumb, we have:

Color Club “Almost Famous”
Jordana “Mellow Yellow”
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri “Lightning”
Sally Hansen Hi-Def “Lite”
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear “Mellow Yellow”

Color Club’s “Almost Famous” is nearly identical to Sally Hansen “Lightning” in real life, with both being a slightly golden shade. My favorite, I think, would be Sally Hansen “Mellow Yellow,” which is a true, bright creme.

As for which color looks the most like Mimosa, I’d say Sally Hansen “Lightning” under a coat of L’Oreal “Yellow Seahorse” !!

today was the day i realized that i could be loved it echoed through the park he wasn’t our son he belonged to everyone and it’s such a loss for the good guys that it just is because everybody dies

Pure Ice, Iced Merlot (a delicious drink)

Who would have known that a $2 bottle of polish from Target could be so cute & so pretty? Iced Merlot both sounds delicious and looks scrumptious in its magnificent shimmer.

The playful conversation starts,
Counter all your quick remarks
Like passing notes in secrecy

This is me praying that
This was the very first page
My thoughts will echo your name
Until I see you again
These are the words I held back
As I was leaving too soon

I’ll spend forever wondering if you knew

I’m not a head-over-heels I-must-have-it Chanel Jade purist, so I have no problem trying on colors that are similar - but not an exact dupe - to Chanel’s, um, most famous shade in history.

Sally Hansen’s Gentle Blossom is a mint green with a slight shimmer similar to Jade. Gentle Blossom is more pastel, less shimmery, and not as dark as Jade, however. I think it’s a great short stubby nails manicure

This is none other than Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe, an absolutely beautiful, celebrity-favorite glitter polish. The name is fitting because Across the Universe looks like an endless reflection of sea and sky.

Lippmann bottles are nothing short of works of art, either. Pure luxurious goodness

L’Oreal Paris nail polish look more high end than their frequent 2-for-$5 sales may let on, and the summer 2011 “Summer Siren” collection is proof of this.

The two polishes pictured are: Pink Shells, a shimmery fuschia, and Coral Starfish, a mysterious orange reminiscent of hidden seashore treasures.

Also included in this collection are Yellow Seahorse and Blue Marine, the latter of which I have yet to acquire! Definitely wishlisted for now.
